Your test results are ready to view
Each year, I go through a full-body MRI as part of the Toronto Protocol for people with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS) — a rare condition that increases cancer risk.
Waiting for results always comes with a heavy dose of scanxiety. Getting the email that test results are ready to review can be panic inducing but this year, I got the best news possible: no new or growing lesions anywhere! The spots on my liver are stable — likely benign — and that’s something worth celebrating. After hearing the results, my wife and I hopped on our bikes and hit the trails around Golden, Colorado. We pedaled at an easy pace, I could finally breathe again — taking in the crisp air, the views, and the simple joy of riding my bike.
Living with LFS means uncertainty never really disappears, but moments like this remind me how good it is to be alive.
Here’s to good health, open trails, and more healing rides ahead.
